GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS

Kindly follow the registration guidelines below for Adarsh 2024:

  • Registration Deadline:
    The registration of participants should be completed at least 3 days prior to the event.
  • Registration Forms:
    - Registration forms will be available on the University`s web-page.
    - Hard copies of the forms will be available in the hostels.
  • Submission:
    The completed registration forms should be submitted to the office of the DSW (Dean of Student Welfare).
  • Eligibility:
    Participants must be bonafide students of the University and must not be under any disciplinary probation.
  • Group Events:
    No hired accompanists will be permitted for group events. All participants must perform with their own team.
  • Conduct Guidelines:
    Vulgarity and obscenity will not be entertained in any form during the event. We maintain a culture of respect and decency.
  • Judges` Decision:
    The decision of the judges will be final and binding on all participants.

Solo Dance (Men / Women) Rules

Here are the guidelines for the Dance Performance event in Adarsh 2024:

  • Duration:
    The performance must be between 2 to 4 minutes. Exceeding this time limit may lead to a deduction in marks.
  • Allowed Performance:
    The performer is allowed to dance to two lyrical solos during their performance.
  • Content Guidelines:
    Use of vulgar, sexually explicit, or violent language/lyrics is strictly prohibited. Please ensure the content is appropriate.
  • Dress Code:
    The contestant should be dressed appropriately for the performance. Indecent exposure is NOT allowed.
  • Judging Criteria:
    Judgment will be based on the following aspects:
    • Rhythm
    • Formation
    • Expression
    • Costumes
    • Makeup
    • Sets (Overall Effect)
  • Props:
    Use of props is permitted and extra marks will be awarded for creativity in using props.
  • Time Limit:
    The time limit includes setting up any props on stage. Make sure to set them up within the allocated time.
  • Dance Forms:
    All dance forms, including classical, are allowed. Be sure to stay within the guidelines.
  • Negative Marking:
    There will be negative marking for:
    • Using fire or causing any damage to the stage.
    • Exceeding the time limit.
  • Music Submission:
    Please submit the music for your performance to the stage committee at the registration counter immediately after arriving on the college premises.
  • Music Format:
    Pen drives are allowed for music submission.

Group Dance (Men / Women) Rules

Here are the guidelines for the Group Dance Performance event in Adarsh 2024:

  • Team Size:
    A maximum of 15 members is allowed in a team. A minimum of 5 members must be present on stage during the performance. Failure to comply may result in negative marking.
  • Props:
    Props usage should be mentioned during registration. Additional marks will be awarded for creative use of props.
  • Time Limit:
    The time limit for each performance is 5-8 minutes. The time limit includes the setting of props on stage. Exceeding the time limit will result in negative marking.
  • Judging Criteria:
    The judging will be based on the following criteria:
    • Choreography
    • Music
    • Synchronization and Coordination
    • Props
    • Costumes
    • Theme Depiction
  • Dance Styles:
    Folk and pure classical dance styles are allowed. Make sure to stay true to the essence of the chosen style.
  • Host and Other Institute Entries:
    A maximum of 2 entries from the host institution and 1 entry from other participating institutes will be allowed.
  • Music Submission:
    Submit your performance music to the stage committee at the registration counter immediately after arriving on the college premises.
  • Music Format:
    Pen drives are allowed for music submission.

Solo Singing (Men & Women) Rules

Here are the guidelines for the Group Singing Performance event in Adarsh 2024:

  • Team Size:
    The group must consist of a minimum of 2 participants and a maximum of 6 participants.
  • Performance Duration:
    Each group is allotted 2-3 minutes for their performance. Please ensure that your performance fits within the time frame.
  • Lyrics:
    Participants are not allowed to refer to the lyrics while singing. Ensure you are fully prepared before the performance.
  • Judging Criteria:
    Participants will be judged on the following aspects:
    • Song Selection
    • Voice Quality
    • Clarity
    • Rhythm
    • Appeal to the Audience
  • Musical Instruments:
    Participants should bring their own musical instruments if required for the performance. Ensure that all instruments are in working order before the event.
  • Song Choice:
    The choice of song is open to participants; however, the song must be free from slangs or derogatory language.

Mr / Ms FASHION SHOW Rules

Guidelines for the Semi-Formal Wear Round of the Mr./Ms. Fashion Show:

  • Modeling Semi-Formal Wear:
    Each contestant will model semi-formal wear and demonstrate their poise on stage. Be sure to carry yourself with confidence and elegance.
  • Biography Introduction:
    Your biography will be read aloud by the emcee during this portion of the event. It should include the following information:
    • Your Name
    • Hometown
    • Year in College
    • Major
    • Fun Facts
    • Interests/Hobbies
    • Post-Graduation Plans
  • Song Selection:
    You may choose a song to be played while your bio is being read and while you model your outfit. However, songs with obscenities or curse words will not be allowed.
  • Random Song:
    If you do not choose a song, one will be randomly played during this time.
  • Attire Guidelines:
    - Men: Button-up shirt, tie, sports jacket, dress pants, dress shoes. Accessories are permitted. - Women: Long or short dress, skirt and blouse (if wearing a skirt), high-heeled or flat dress shoes. Accessories are permitted.
  • Penalties:
    Contestants who deviate from the dress code or wear inappropriate clothing will be penalized.
